People are often surprised to learn that the title ‘architect’ is protected by law.  No-one can call themselves an architect if they are not registered with the Architects Registration Board ,which sets very high standards of entry.  All architects must have a very high level of education, carry professional indemnity insurance and follow a strict code of practice.  The Board is made up of eight lay members, and seven architect members.  I have been a member of the Board since 2009 and I am standing for re-election this year.  Voting finishes at the beginning of March and all architects are entitled to vote, so let’s hope they vote for me!
