We have been commissioned to direct the repair works to the enormous medieval gatehouse at Pentney.  It is all that remains of the monastic buildings, which were destroyed after the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII. it is a very important building, and is listed Grade 1 and is a scheduled ancient monument.  The funds are coming from the Heritage Lottery Fund, via English Heritage.  We are delighted to be involved with such an important and fascinating project.

At the moment it is covered in scaffolding and sheeting to protect it from the weather during the repairs.  The contractors, Universal Stone, are starting with the parapet and working downwards.  They hope to be finished in the autumn, weather permitting!
